Oct. 6 - A Bridge to Justice 2023 Essay/Video Contest- Two $500 awards available (one for a high school junior or senior and one for a college level student). Essay/Video Contest for high school juniors and seniors and college students who reside in Western New York or attend a high school or college in Western New York (including the following counties: Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee, and Orleans). Written essay or video submission accepted.
Jan. 31 – Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus - Open to Senior or Junior high school students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed.
Mar. 15- Horatio Alger Scholarship - $25,000-$10,000 scholarships available for eligible Junior high school students. Eligibility criteria: Have a demonstrated financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree (4 yr. college degree) at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the U.S., be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and maintain a minimum GPE of at least a 2.0 (75% or greater).
