Newfane High School is proud to offer a number of college level courses in partnership with SUNY Niagara and Niagara University. Courses are completed right here at NHS with one of our teachers and afford students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit.

College Course Registration & Payment

In order for students to be considered for earning college credit, they must register and pay for the course. Details for how to do so are listed below.

  • There are two points during the year where students will register for CAP courses through SUNY Niagara.

    The first occurs in the fall at the beginning of the school year. At this time, students will register for Fall Semester and Full Year courses.

    This includes the following courses: 

     

    College Biology 1

    College Physics 1

    College Pre-Calculus

    College Calculus 1

    College Statistics

    College English 1

    College Business Management

    College Principles of Marketing

    College MS Office

    College Spanish 1

    College Spanish 2

    College Healthy Living

     

    Payment for the Fall Semester and Full Year courses will also be due in the fall. SUNY Niagara will mail home a bill with payment instructions.

     

    The second registration period falls during the middle of the school year. At this time students will register for Spring Semester courses.

    This includes the following courses:

     

    College Biology 2

    College Physics 2

    College Calculus 2

    College English 2

     

    Payment for the Spring Semester courses will be due shortly thereafter. SUNY Niagara will mail home a bill with payment instructions.

     

    Specific dates for the registration period and payment deadline are released by SUNY Niagara at the beginning of the school year. Reminders are also posted to ParentSquare.

     

    Registration is completed online through the SUNY Niagara CAP webpage

  • There is only one point during the school year where students will register for the NUSTEP course through Niagara University.

     

    This occurs in the fall at the beginning of the school year. At this time, students will register for the following course: 

     

    College Introduction to Sociology

     

    Payment for the course will also be due in the fall. Niagara University will upload the bill to the students PurplePass account where it can then be paid directly.

     

    Specific dates for the registration period and payment deadline are released by Niagara University at the beginning of the school year. Reminders are also posted to ParentSquare.

     

    Registration is completed online through NU’s PurplePass account, which the teacher will help students set up in class at the beginning of the year.

Requesting & Sending Your College Transcripts

In order for a student’s college credits earned through dual enrollment courses at NHS to be applied to the college they choose to attend after graduation, they must request a transcript from the college the dual enrollment course was offered through and have it sent to the college/university.

 

Please see below for more information based on the corresponding school.

  • Transcripts from SUNY Niagara can be requested online through their transcript webpage.

    Select the yellow button that says “Order Official Transcripts”.

    This will link you to a platform called Parchment. Parchment is a system used by many colleges/universities for the ordering and sending of transcripts.

    You will need your SUNY Niagara student ID number to order your transcript. If you do not know your student ID number, you will need to contact SUNY Niagara 716-614-6250

     

    You can select when the transcript will be sent. The options are:

    “send now”, “hold for final grades”, “hold for degree”, and “hold for high school CAP courses”

    You will want to select “hold for high school CAP courses” so that an official transcript will be sent following the entry of final grades and averages allowing the student to recieve credit for all of their courses.

  • Transcripts from Niagara University can be requested online through their records services and resources webpage.

    Select the orange button that says “Order Transcript”.

    This will link you to a platform called Parchment. Parchment is a system used by many colleges/universities for the ordering and sending of transcripts.

    You will need your Niagara Universoty student ID number to order your transcript. If you do not know your student ID number, you will need to contact NU 716-286-8730

    You will want to select the option that holds the transcript until after final course grades have been entered if the student is presently taking the course. If the course has already been completed and final grades have been entered, the transcript can be sent right away.
